               ATTORNEY GENERAL RENO TO SPEAK AT 
                JUSTICE DEPARTMENT AIDS CEREMONY
                  1 P.M., FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6 


     WASHINGTON, D.C. --  Attorney General Janet Reno will speak
at a Justice Department ceremony commemorating World AIDS Day
1996.  She will be joined by Jerry Roemer, a Justice Department
attorney living with AIDS; Jim Graham, Executive Director of the
Whitman-Walker Clinic in Washington, D.C.; and others.  

     The event marks the end of the Department's week-long AIDS
awareness effort, which began on December 1st, World AIDS Day. 
During the program, a quilt commemorating the life of former
Justice Department employee Charles (Chuck) Plummer will be
dedicated as part of the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt.  The
Metropolitan Community Church D.C. Gospel Choir will perform.
