ATTORNEY GENERAL RENO TO VISIT HOUSTON AREA SCHOOLS WITH

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Attorney General Janet Reno will travel to Houston, Texas on Friday, April 28, 2000 to visit a Houston area school with Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. The Attorney General will talk informally with students and discuss safe schools programs. The Attorney General will also release a new action guide to help communities prevent school violence. The guide was jointly developed by the Departments of Justice and Education. Secretary of Education Richard W. Riley will also be releasing the guide during a visit to Chicago.
