ATTORNEY GENERAL ASHCROFT AND PHILIPPOS PETSALNIKOS GREEK MINISTER OF JUSTICE TO HOLD SIGNING CEREMONY

WASHINGTON, D.C.- Attorney General Ashcroft and the Chairman of the European Union’s Council of Ministers of Justice and Home Affairs, Greek Minister of Justice Philippos Petsalnikos, will sign a multilateral extradition treaty TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 25, 2003 at 12:15 p.m. The Attorney General and the Greek Minister of Justice will deliver remarks, participate in a signing ceremony and hold a brief photo-op in Room 5107 of Main Justice. There will be no question and answer session.

Following the ceremony, Justice Department officials will hold a brief OFF CAMERA, ON BACKGROUND, PEN AND PAD BRIEFING at 2:00 p.m. in Room 5107 to discuss the details of the extradition treaty with the European Union.
