JUDGE ALBERTO R. GONZALES CONFIRMED AS THE 80TH
ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE UNITED STATES

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Judge Alberto R. Gonzales was confirmed by the United States Senate today to be the 80th Attorney General of the United States. He was sworn in at approximately 5:40 p.m. (ET) by Vice President Richard B. Cheney at a private White House ceremony in the Roosevelt Room.
