   ATTORNEYS GENERAL RENO AND THORNBURGH JOIN TO CELEBRATE THE
     FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ADA AND SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT


     WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Attorneys Generals Janet Reno and Dick
Thornburgh will join together tomorrow to celebrate the fifth
anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and set
the record straight.
     The two top law enforcement officials will hail the law's
record of success at "Voices of Freedom: America Speaks Out on
the ADA."  The event, sponsored by the National Council on
Disabilities, will include individuals with disabilities from all
50 states who have benefitted from the common sense law.
     The ADA prohibits discrimination against the 49 million
Americans with disabilities.
