Comprehensive Violence Reduction Partnership (CVRP)

CVRP Banner

The Comprehensive Violence Reduction Partnership is a partnership between law enforcement agencies to address violent crime in Detroit. The efforts include enforcement, prevention and community trust.

Partners include the Detroit Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police, Michigan Department of Corrections, U.S. Marshal's Service, the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, and Michigan Prisoner Re-Entry Initiative.

Our goal is to work together strategically and collaboratively so that we can make the best use of scarce resources, and so that each agency knows what the other is doing. We work together on enforcement operations, prevention programs, and community outreach so that we can engage the community in our work. CVRP members have participated in a series of town hall meetings to obtain input from the community and to answer questions about our work.
