Project Safe Neighborhoods Takes To The Schools

March 6, 2012

On March 6, 2012, Assistant United States Attorney/Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Coordinator Frank Talbot, along with Detective Mark Sikes of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Gun Crimes Unit, spoke to almost 300 middle and high school students at the River City Science Academy, in Jacksonville. During the visit, AUSA Talbot pointed out both the obvious and hidden dangers of firearms and how they impact individuals and families. While enforcement is a tool in reducing firearms related violence, prevention is considered the key element to creating safer communities. The U. S. Attorney's Office/MDFL continues to work with local communities in implementing the PSN strategy throughout the district.
