Bath Man Pleads Guilty to Firearms Charge

Portland, Maine:  United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced today that Johnny Ray Johnson, 57, of Bath, Maine pleaded guilty on Tuesday in U.S. District Court to possession of firearms by a felon.
 
According to court documents, on October 13, 2013, while Johnson was on probation for a 2013 domestic violence assault felony conviction in Maine state court, his probation officers conducted a home visit and found him in possession of three firearms.

The defendant faces up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.  His prior felony convictions may also subject him to an enhanced sentence as an Armed Career Criminal requiring a sentence of at least of 15 years in prison and five years of supervised release. He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office. 
 
The investigation was conducted by the Maine Department of Corrections (Probation and Parole); the Bath Police Department; and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
