Portland, Maine: United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced that Billy
Schildroth, 37, of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, pled guilty today in U.S. District Court before
Judge Nancy Torresen to pharmacy robbery.

According to court records and evidence introduced at the plea hearing, on February 13,
2014, Kyle Desmarais drove Billy Schildroth to a Rite Aid pharmacy located in Old Orchard
Beach so that Schildroth could rob the pharmacy. Schildroth absconded with Oxycontin
(oxycodone) and Suboxone (buprenorphine) after putting his hand inside his coat and telling the
pharmacist that he had “a gun and five bullets” and not to alert anyone or he would shoot the
pharmacist in the face.

On June 20, 2014, Desmarais pled guilty to aiding and abetting pharmacy robbery.

Schildroth faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He will be sentenced after
completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Old
Orchard Beach Police Department.
