COPS OFFICE AWARDS FUNDING TO NDCA TO INVEST IN COMMUNITY POLICING PROGRAMS
Several Police Departments in the Northern District of California (NDCA) recently received funding from the COPS Office and Director Bernard Melekian was on hand with several mayors and chiefs in the City of Oakland to make the announcement with U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag. The cities of Oakland (25 officers/$10.7 million), Novato (3 officers/$1.1 million), Salinas (8 officers/$2.8 million), San Jose (3 officers/$1.7 million), Crescent City (1 officer/$240,000) and the County of Monterey (7 officers/2.37 million) all received funding.
