Branch Divisions

The branch divisions of the Southern District of Texas also have their hands full on a daily basis covering the myriad of issues facing this area and the district as a whole.

Five counties from the branch divisions directly border Mexico, and due to this close proximity, it is clear that immigration issues, drug trafficking and human smuggling are of major importance. Notwithstanding, the branch divisions also prosecute cases in relation to Project Safe Neighborhoods, OCDETF, child pornography, public corruption, health care fraud and money laundering,
just to name a few.

From Victoria, Corpus Christi and Padre Island over to Laredo and down to the Rio Grande Valley on the southernmost tip of Texas, SDTX personnel in the branch divisions - comprising approximately 70 attorneys and 40 support staff - work diligently every day to handle some of nation’s most pressing issues.
