FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 4, 2011

Anchorage, Alaska – United States Attorney Karen L. Loeffler announced that an Anchorage man was sentenced in federal court in Anchorage to five years in federal prison for selling crack cocaine.
On April 4, 2011, Kenji Niko Simmons, a/k/a “Kaos”, 31, of Anchorage, was sentenced by Chief United States District Judge Ralph R. Beistline.

According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Kyle G. French, Anchorage Police Department officers stopped Simmons for a traffic violation on April 30, 2008, and arrested him for an outstanding warrant. Officers subsequently recovered 17.1 grams of crack cocaine, a 12-gauge pistol-grip shotgun, and 12-gauge shotgun ammunition from Simmons’ vehicle. On July 18, 2008, law enforcement officers observed Simmons sell 4.7 grams of crack cocaine.
