Lee County Man Sentenced to 240 Months in Federal Prison on Drug Distribution Charges

Montgomery, Alabama - Chico Untras Morgan, 36, of Opelika, Alabama, was sentenced to 240 months’ in federal prison following his conviction for knowingly and intentionally distributing 50 grams or more of cocaine base, more commonly known as “crack,” U. S. Attorney Leura G. Canary announced today. Morgan was also sentenced to serve 10 years’ supervised release under the supervision of a federal probation officer following his release from prison. There is no parole from federal prison.

Morgan had been indicted for selling the crack on July 15, 2009, in Lee County and pled guilty in October 2009.

The case was investigated through the joint efforts of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Auburn Police Department and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney W. Brent Woodall.
