40 YEAR OLD MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO RECEIPT OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

            BIRMINGHAM, AL - Darrell Dwayne Thrasher, plead guilty to receipt of child pornography in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

            According to the Plea Agreement, Darrell Dwayne Thrasher knowingly received child pornography that was transmitted in interstate commerce by use of the internet. 

            The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Alabama Bureau of Investigation, and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.  Assistant United States Attorneys Daniel J. Fortune & Thomas Borton prosecuted the matter on behalf of the U.S. Government.
                                                                                                                                               
            This case was brought as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative, which prosecutes  individuals who possess and distribute child pornography. Led by the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices nationwide, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as identify and rescue victims.
