CLEBURNE COUNTY MAN INDICTED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
BIRMINGHAM, AL - United States Attorney Joyce White Vance of the Northern District of Alabama and Roy Sexton, Special Agent in Charge U.S. Secret Service announced today that JONATHAN BRADY LECROY has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Possession and Receipt of Child Pornography.
Lecroy, 23, of Heflin, AL was charged in a six count indictment filed today in the United States District Court in Birmingham.
Counts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 charge LeCroy with possession of child pornography to include images found on a computer, printed out on computer paper, and captured on VHS cassette tapes and compact discs. Count 5 charges him with receipt of images of child pornography found on his computer.
The maximum sentence for possession of child pornography is ten years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The sentence for receipt of child pornography is not less than 5 years and not more than 20 years in prison. Upon conviction, the defendant must register as a sex offender. He also faces a term of supervised release of life following any term of imprisonment that he may receive.
The Alabama Department of Public Safety, Alabama State Troopers, Alabama Bureau of Investigation and their Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force worked together with the United States Secret Service during the investigation of this case. Assistant United States Attorney Laura D. Hodge is prosecuting this case.
Members of the public are reminded that the indictment contains only charges. A defendant is presumed innocent of the charges and it will be the government’s burden to prove a defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
