HUNTSVILLE MAN PLEADS GUILTY FOR RECEIPT AND POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
BIRMINGHAM -DAVID LEE HINDS, 58, pleaded guilty Tuesday to receiving and possessing at least 600 images of child pornography, U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance announced.
According to the indictment and plea agreement, between July 1, 2008, and Feb. 25, 2009, in Madison County, HINDS used the internet to receive images of child pornography and possessed a computer disk and computer hard-drive that contained child pornography. HINDS is scheduled to be sentenced in March 2010.
The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration & Customs Enforcement. Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel J. Fortune is prosecuting the matter on behalf of the United States.
This case was brought as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse, and our continuing efforts to target individuals who possess and distribute child pornography. Led by the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices nationwide, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as identify and rescue victims.
