BIRMINGHAM MAN INDICTED FOR FORESTDALE CAR-JACKING
BIRMINGHAM - A federal grand jury today indicted a 27-year-old Birmingham man for a June car-jacking in Forestdale, announced U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance.
The two-count indictment charges Romeo Stanley with using a gun to forcefully take a 2009 Jeep Patriot from the man driving it on June 4, 2009.
The car-jacking was investigated by the FBI, in conjunction with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Biggers will prosecute the case on behalf of the United States.
Members of the public are reminded that an indictment contains only charges. A defendant is presumed innocent of the charges and it will be the government’s burden to prove a defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.
