U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance will hold a press conference at her Birmingham office Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 2:30 p.m., to announce more than $1 million presented to the Alabama Department of Public Safety and the Tuscaloosa Sheriff’s Office from money seized following a traffic stop on Interstate 20/59 in Tuscaloosa on July 9, 2008.
The federal Drug Enforcement Administration directed the forfeiture of $1.3 million found hidden in a van stopped that morning.
Officials from the Department of Public Safety and the Tuscaloosa Sheriff’s Office will join the U.S. attorney for the press conference. It will be held in Room 245 of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 1801 Fourth Ave. North.
Media should arrive at 2:00 p.m. at the Fourth Avenue entrance. T.V. crews requiring live feeds should arrive no later than 1:30 p.m. MEDIA CREDENTIALS MUST BE PRESENTED UPON ENTERING THE BUILDING.
