Gardendale Man Gets 15 Years for Mount Olive Pharmacy Robbery
BIRMINGHAM – U.S. District Judge Abdul Kallon today sentenced a Gardendale man to 15 years in prison for the October 2010 robbery of a Mount Olive pharmacy, announced U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance and FBI Special Agent in Charge Patrick Maley.
ROBERT BLAIR VICK, 28, pleaded guilty in October 2011 to robbing The Pharmacy on Mount Olive Road of pharmaceutical drugs. Kallon ordered that Vick’s federal sentence be served consecutively to a state sentence he is serving for a probation violation.
According to his plea agreement with the government, Vick entered The Pharmacy on Oct. 30, 2010, displayed a firearm and demanded the prescription drugs Methadone and Xanax. He was given several hundred pills, generic versions of the drugs he demanded, and fled the store. He was arrested the next day, after wrecking his vehicle on Interstate 65 near Mount Olive.
The FBI and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney L. James Weil Jr. prosecuted the case.
