Euel Dawson Smith, a 39-year-old resident of Lillian, Alabama, entered a guilty plea in federal court this afternoon to conspiracy to manufacture more than 500 grams of methamphetamine. Smith faces a sentence of 10 years to life imprisonment followed by a supervised release term of 5 years. Court documents reflect that Smith admitted that he and others were responsible for the manufacture of more than 700 grams of methamphetamine. Smith’s sentencing is set for November 23, 2009, before Judge Steele.

The investigation was conducted by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Gloria A. Bedwell.
