
BENTON COUNTY MAN ENTERS GUILTY PLEA TO PRODUCTION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

Fayetteville, Arkansas - Conner Eldridge, United States Attorney for the Western District
of Arkansas announced that Cody Malone, age twenty-six of Lowell, pleaded guilty today to
producing child pornography. United States District Court Judge Jimm Larry Hendren accepted the
guilty plea in U.S. District Court in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Malone faces a sentence with a minimum
of fifteen years and a maximum of thirty years without the possibility of parole.
United States Attorney Eldridge commented,“Crimes against children remain among the
highest priorities for our office. This type of predatory behavior is simply inexcusable. We will
continue to pursue and prosecute cases such as this and hold the perpetrators of these crimes
accountable.”
Per Court records, on June 26, 2012, the defendant, Cody Malone, was arrested by the
Springdale Police Department for soliciting minors online for sexual purposes. Upon being arrested
and advised of his Miranda rights, Malone confessed to the solicitation and additionally admitted
that he previously had sexual intercourse with a fifteen-year old female that he had met online. A
subsequent forensic examination of his cell phone revealed that Malone had made a recording of the
encounter with the minor female.
This case was investigated by the Springdale Police Department and the Little Flock Police
Department. Assistant United States Attorney Dustin Roberts prosecuted the case for the United
States.
