TUCSON MAN SENTENCED TO 8 YEARS ON CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGE
TUCSON, Ariz. – On April 2, 2012, Michael Lee Dixon, 44, of Tucson, Ariz. was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Raner C. Collins to 97 months imprisonment, lifetime supervised release, a $10,000.00 fine, and ordered to pay $5,000.00 in restitution. Dixon pleaded guilty on Dec. 9, 2010, to Possession of Child Pornography.
According to the plea agreement, the execution of a search warrant at Dixon’s residence, on March 11, 2009, resulted in the seizure of two computer towers, a hard drive, and several items of digital storage media, all of which belonged to Dixon. A subsequent forensic evaluation revealed that the seized items contained over 100 still images, and over 30 video files, of child pornography. Further investigation revealed that the defendant had previously subscribed to child pornography websites.
The investigation in this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The prosecution is being handled by Angela Woolridge, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Tucson.
