HUALAPAI NATION TRIBAL MEMBER SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON FOR ASSAULT

PHOENIX – On Nov. 5, 2012, Nicholas Angelo Imus Bravo, 21, of Peach Springs, Ariz., was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Frederick J. Martone to 34 months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release. Bravo pleaded guilty on July 26, 2012, to assault with a dangerous weapon on the Hualapai Reservation.

According to court records, on August 14, 2011, Bravo assaulted the victim, a family member, by slicing him in the neck with a knife. As a result of the assault, the victim sustained injuries that included a laceration and scarring to his neck.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Hualapai Nation Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution was handled by Christina J. Reid-Moore, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
