Docket Text: Minute Entry for Status Conference as to Richard G. Renzi (1), James W. Sandlin (2) held on 4/9/2013 before Judge David C. Bury. Counsel have previously been provided a proposed trial schedule; all counsel affirm the trial schedule including the end date, is realistic. Counsel agree to seating 4 alternate jurors. Counsel shall confer and draft an agreed statement of the case approximately one page in length for voir dire purposes and submit it to the Court. Counsel are advised they should select one attorney per party for sidebar purposes during voir dire. During trial just the attorneys examining the witness will approach sidebar, but counsel may confer with co-counsel if necessary. Counsel shall confer regarding preparation of a trial notebook for notes and organizational purposes for the jurors. Counsel shall confer regarding the possibility of re-numbering the counts in the Superseding Indictment for trial purposes. The government will provide to defendants the summaries they intend to use at trial by the pretrial conference, with the understanding that those summaries may be subject to change prior to trial. The Court requests that defendants confer as to their intentions re: speech or debate evidence and if possible advise the government prior to opening statements at trial. Pretrial conference set for 4/22/2013 at 10:30 a.m. is affirmed.
