Docket #: 1:10-cr-117-AWI

FRESNO, Calif. — United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced today that Adolio Garcia, 32, of Oakdale, pleaded guilty today before United States District Judge Anthony W. Ishii to possession of a firearm after having committed a crime of domestic violence.

This case is the product of an investigation by the Central Valley HIDTA, Stanislaus County Drug Enforcement Agency, and Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant United States Attorney Kathleen A. Servatius is prosecuting the case.

According to court documents, Garcia was found in possession of two semi-automatic handguns, a rifle, and a double-barrel shotgun. Under federal law, Garcia is not permitted to possess firearms because of a 2006 conviction for domestic violence in Stanislaus County.

Garcia faces a maximum prison term of 10 years and a fine of $250,000. The actual sentence, however, will be determined at the discretion of the court after consideration of any applicable statutory factors and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which take into account a number of variables.
