SACRAMENTO -- United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced today that Gerardo Valencia-Revuelta, 24, of Antioch, California, pleaded guilty today before United States District Judge Edward J. Garcia to conspiring with others to distribute methamphetamine and to possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
According to court documents, Valencia-Revuelta is the last of five defendants to plead guilty. Valencia-Revuelta and and others were able to orchestrate the sale of nearly $70,000 worth of high-grade methamphetamine on extremely short notice, leading to the seizure of several pounds of high-grade methamphetamine.
This case is the product of an investigation by the San Joaquin County’s Metropolitan Narcotics Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney Michael M. Beckwith is prosecuting the case.
The maximum statutory penalty for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, is life in prison, a $4 million fine, and five years to life of supervised release. There is a 10-year mandatory minimum sentence associated with both of the charges to which the defendant pleaded guilty. However, the actual sentence will be dictated by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which take into account a number of factors, and will be imposed at the discretion of the court.
