SACRAMENTO, Calif. — United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced today that a federal grand jury returned a four-count indictment charging Daniel Salinas, 30; Juan Oscar Martinez-Arias, 22; Antonio Sanchez-Gaona, 24; and Edgardo Solorio-Camacho, 26; all of Mexico, with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine.

This case is the product of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the San Joaquin County Metropolitan Narcotics Task Force, and the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Assistant United States Attorney Michael D. Anderson is prosecuting the case.

The indictment alleges that between January and March of 2011 the defendants conspired to distribute methamphetamine in Stockton and San Jose.

If convicted, the defendants face a maximum statutory penalty of life in prison and a $4 million fine. The actual sentence, however, will be determined at the discretion of the court after consideration of any applicable statutory factors and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which take into account a number of variables.

The charges are only allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
