Ten Year Prison Sentence For 1999 Seizure Of 300 Kilograms Of Cocaine

                FRESNO, Calif.- United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced today that David Allen Harp, age 64, of Westley, California, was sentenced  today to ten  years in federal prison to possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute.  The sentence was imposed by United States District Judge Oliver W. Wanger. 
                In his guilty plea, Harp admitted that on March 13, 1999 he was driving a motorhome with 300 kilograms of cocaine that he intended to distribute.  Harp surrendered to immigration officials in San Ysidro, California on November 3, 2010 and has been in custody since that time.

This case is the product of an extensive investigation by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service, the California Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement, and the California Highway Patrol.   This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin P. Rooney.
