SACRAMENTO, Calif. — United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced today that Travis Grey, 27, of Woodland, was sentenced today by United States District Judge John A. Mendez to 10 months in prison to be followed by supervised release for 10 years. During his term of supervised release Grey will be monitored by a federal probation officer, and he will be prohibited from accessing the Internet and having unsupervised contact with minors. Grey will also be required to register as a sex offender.
According to court documents, Grey was court-martialed by the Marines in 2007 for receiving child pornography. As a result, he was ordered to register as a sex offender. In 2010, Woodland police discovered that Grey had failed to register.
This case is the product of an investigation by Woodland Police Department and the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Carolyn K. Delaney prosecuted the case.
