Docket #: 2:11-CR-175-GEB

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced that
Alicia Calhoun, 41, of Stockton, pleaded guilty today to obtaining information by computer from a financial institution and identity theft.

This case is the product of an extensive investigation by the United States Postal Inspection Service with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol. Assistant United States Attorney Camil A. Skipper is prosecuting the case.

According to the plea agreement, Calhoun admitted that she accessed her employer’s customer account records with the intent to use their identities to obtain credit for herself. This case is related to United States v. Blue, Case no. 2:09-CR-308-JAM. In January, Chanel Ann Blue, 47, of Hayward, was sentenced to 42 months in prison after pleading guilty to bank fraud, access device fraud, aggravated identity theft, and identity theft.

Calhoun is scheduled to be sentenced by United States District Judge Garland E. Burrell Jr. on January 20, 2012. She faces a maximum statutory penalty of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The actual sentence, however, will be determined at the discretion of the court after consideration of any applicable statutory factors and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which take into account a number of variables.
