Docket #: 1:11-cr-00242-LJO

FRESNO, Calif. — United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced that today United States District Judge Lawrence J. O’Neill sentenced Daniel Vasquez-Miranda, 27, and Zoila Vazquez-Vazquez, 21, both of Mexico, to one year and eight months in prison each for conspiring to produce and transfer fraudulent immigration and social security identification documents. They pleaded guilty to the charges on November 14, 2011.

According to court documents, between May and July 2011, the defendants manufactured and sold false identification documents, such as social security cards and permanent resident cards, for customers they met in various locations in Madera County.

This case was the product of an extensive investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Assistant United States Attorney Ian Garriques prosecuted the case.
