FRESNO, Calif. — United States District Judge Lawrence J. O’Neill sentenced Isidro Fredis Hernandez, 39, of El Salvador, to one year in prison for conspiring to produce and transfer fraudulent immigration and social security identification documents, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.

According to court documents, between June and September 2011, Hernandez took pictures and biographical information from customers in Fresno. His coconspirator, Araceli P. Perez, produced the false identification documents, such as social security cards and lawful permanent resident cards, using the photos and biographical information that Hernandez obtained. Hernandez delivered the documents to the customers and completed the sales.  Perez is wanted by authorities and remains at large.

This case was the product of an investigation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Assistant United States Attorney Ian Garriques prosecuted the case.
