Docket #: 1:11-cr-434 LJO

FRESNO, Calif. — Oscar Arellano Iniego, 55, of Bakersfield, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Lawrence J. O’Neill to eight years in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine, United States Attorney Benjamin B. According to court documents, Arellano Iniego was involved in supplying high-purity crystal methamphetamine to a DEA confidential source at a banquet hall in Bakersfield. The delivery followed negotiations with co-conspirator Sergio Hector Aguilar, 46.

Aguilar is also charged in this case and is currently detained. He is next scheduled to appear in court on February 4, 2013. The charges against him are only allegations and he is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

This case is the product of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bakersfield Police Department, and the Kern County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Karen A. Escobar is prosecuting the case.
