Father and Son Sentenced in Stanislaus County Methamphetamine Trafficking Case

FRESNO, Calif. — Today, United States District Judge Anthony W. Ishii sentenced Palo Alto residents Artemio Hernandez-Cervantes, 44, to 10 years in prison and Eduardo Hernandez-Barragan, 23, to four years and three months in prison for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute it, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.
According to court documents, on March 14, 2012, the defendants — father and son — were delivering approximately five pounds of methamphetamine to another person and were then arrested. Artemio Hernandez-Cervantes was armed with a loaded pistol at that time.
This case is the product of an investigation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Stanislaus County Drug Enforcement Agency. Assistant United States Attorney Kevin Rooney prosecuted the case.
