Developing and Bringing Best Practices to the Northern District of California
The Northern District of California (NDCA) is dedicated to creating, adopting and sharing the best practices in the country for community involvement and anti-violence programs. On June 22, 2011, Assistant Attorney General Laurie Robinson announced the launch of CrimeSolutions.gov. CrimeSolutions.gov is intended to be a central, reliable, and credible resource to help practitioners and policymakers understand what works in justice-related programs and practices. The site includes information on over 125 justice-related programs and assigns “evidence ratings” – effective, promising or no effects – to indicate whether there is evidence from research that a program achieves its goals. Please visit the site for ideas for your agency or community at www.CrimeSolutions.gov
The Department of Justice has also recently launched www.FindYouthInfo.gov, a website that helps agencies and communities create, maintain, and strengthen effective youth programs. Included are youth facts, funding information, and tools to help assess community assets, generate maps of local and federal resources, search for evidence-based youth programs, and keep up-to-date on the latest, youth-related news. Learn more about FindYouthInfo.gov.
