NEW HAVEN CRACK DEALER SENTENCED TO 11 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON Kevin J. O’Connor, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that ANTHONY SWINT, also known as “KB,” age 32, of New Haven, was sentenced on Friday, August 25, by United States District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport to 132 months of imprisonment, followed by 10 years of supervised release. On August 24, 2004, SWINT pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute five grams of or more of cocaine base (“crack cocaine”). According to documents filed with the Court and statements made in court, on three separate occasions in November 2003, SWINT sold more than five grams of crack cocaine to a cooperating witness. SWINT has been incarcerated since his arrest in June 2004. This matter has been investigated by law enforcement partners in the Safe Street Task Force, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the New Haven Police Department and the State of Connecticut Department of Correction. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony E. Kaplan. | |
