HARTFORD CRACK DEALER SENTENCED TO EIGHT YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON

Nora R. Dannehy, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that WILLIE C. MANSON, JR., also known as “Pete,” 44, of Hartford, was sentenced on Friday, May 2, by United States District Judge Christopher F. Droney in Hartford, to 96 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base (“crack”).  MANSON pleaded guilty to the offense on January 31, 2007.

According to documents filed with the Court and statements made in court, MANSON was arrested on June 2, 2004, at which time law enforcement officers seized approximately 195 grams of crack cocaine and approximately $4000 from MANSON’s Kensington Street residence.

MANSON has been incarcerated since January 2006.

This matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Hartford Police Department.  The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Brian P. Leaming.
