MAN SENTENCED TO FIVE YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON FOR OPERATING MARIJUANA GROW HOUSE IN BOLTON

Nora R. Dannehy, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that QUYET VAN LE, also known as “Alex,” 31, of Danbury and Bolton, Connecticut, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Alvin W. Thompson in Hartford to 60 months of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, for operating a marijuana grow house in Bolton.  On January 7, 2009,  LE pleaded guilty to one count of manufacture and possession with intent to distribute 100 or more marijuana plants.

According to documents filed with the Court and statements made in court, LE knowingly cultivated marijuana plants at a residence located at 16 Enrico Road in Bolton, where he sometimes lived.  On July 15, 2008, LE was arrested after he was found in possession of approximately 240 mature marijuana plants at the Bolton residence.

LE has been detained since his arrest.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Brian P. Leaming and Geoffrey M. Stone.
