NORWALK HEROIN COURIER SENTENCED TO FEDERAL PRISON

David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that JOHAN ANDRES BUCKNER, 25, of Pine Street, Norwalk, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Christopher F. Droney in Hartford to 24 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for possessing with intent to distribute more than one kilogram of heroin.  BUCKNER pleaded guilty to the offense on March 4, 2010.

According to court documents and statements made in court, on March 27, 2008, BUCKNER delivered approximately two kilograms of heroin to an undercover law enforcement officer.  BUCKNER had received the heroin in an aluminum cracker tin from another party before he transferred it to the officer at a gas station in Stamford.  The heroin, which had been pressed into circular discs, had a wholesale street value of approximately $140,000 to $180,000.00 at the time of the transaction.

This matter was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration with the assistance of the Stamford Police Department.  The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Hal Chen.
