MERIDEN CRACK DEALER SENTENCED David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that RANDY POLLOCK, 31, of Meriden, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Vanessa L. Bryant in Hartford to 92 months of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, for distributing crack cocaine. This matter stems from a joint investigation into narcotics trafficking that was conducted by a DEA Task Force and the Meriden Police in 2009. The investigation, which included controlled purchases of crack cocaine, cocaine and firearms, resulted in the arrest and federal prosecution of 13 individuals for drug trafficking and/or firearms violations. According to court documents and statements made in court, POLLOCK was a street level dealer of crack cocaine in and around Meriden. On February 4, 2011, POLLOCK pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of cocaine base (“crack cocaine”). This matter was investigated by the New Haven Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force, which includes several local police departments, in conjunction with the Meriden Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney S. Dave Vatti. | |
