Neighbors of this two-story, red brick row-house complained about drug activity at this residence since 2004. Numerous calls for service were made to the Metropolitan Police Department regarding
drug activity and disorderly conduct at 707 7th Street, N.E.. In April 2004, Commander Thomas McGuire of the First Police District determined that this property was a drug nuisance due to the numerous drug complaints and had the First District’s Focus Mission Team execute a search warrant at the location in May 2004.
During the execution of the search warrant a resident of the property was arrested and a ziplock bag of heroin, empty ziplocks (used for packaging narcotics) and a crack pipe were recovered from the premises. It was discovered that the property was in probate and the United States Attorney’s Office advised the executor of the estate about the drug activity and problems with the property. The executor recognized the severity of the problem and notified the United States Attorney’s Office in December 2004 that the property had been sold. Neighbors of the property indicated that they are pleased with the sale of the property.
