Victim Letter Form

Dear : The Civil Rights Division recently completed its review of the investigative report submitted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation concerning allegations that you were the victim of a criminal violation of federal civil rights statutes, a violation allegedly committed by officials of the (law enforcement agency). After a careful review of that report we concluded that this matter does not constitute a prosecutable violation of the federal criminal civil rights statutes, and we closed our file. Accordingly, based upon the information currently available to us, we intend to take no further action. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.
