Interference with Religious Exercise (as amended effective July 6, 1996)

§ 247(a):

  1. The defendant defaced, damaged or destroyed religious real property:

  2. The defendant acted intentionally:

  3. The defendant acted as he did because of the religious character of the property.

  4. The offense is in or affects interstate commerce.

§ 247(c):

  1. The defendant defaced, damaged or destroyed religious real property.

  2. The defendant acted intentionally.

  3. The defendant acted as he did because of the race, color or ethnic characteristics of any individual associated with that religious property.
