Counterfeit Foreign Obligations or Securities—18 U.S.C. § 478

Section 478 of Title 18 has been deemed applicable only to obligations of securities of currently existing governments. See United States v. Gertz, 249 F.2d 622 (9th Cir. 1957). The statute has questionable application to demonetized obligations and securities of currently existing governments.
