Transported in the Mail18 U.S.C. § 1028
| |
Title 18 U.S.C. § 1028(c)(3), establishes federal jurisdiction
if
-- in the course of the prohibited production, transfer, or possession --
the
identification document, false identification document, or document-making
implement is transported in the United States mail. As a practical matter,
this
subsection really only expands coverage to intrastate mailings, since
interstate
mailings are covered by the "commerce" basis for federal jurisdiction.
