Section 1826(c) of Title 28, United States Code, deals with the
criminal
sanctions for escape or attempted escape from lawful custody or confinement
following civil commitment as a recalcitrant witness or as a dangerous
person who
has been acquitted by reason of insanity. These sanctions are also made
applicable to persons aiding or assisting the escape or attempt to
escape.
