Harboring18 USC 1071No Justification Defense
| |
Similarly, the courts have refused to recognize a defense to a
harboring
prosecution that the defendant believed that the government's charges were
false
or a product of government harassment. See, e.g., United States
v.
Bissonette, 586 F.2d 73, 78 (8th Cir. 1978); United States v.
Forrest,
356 F. Supp. 343, 344 (W.D.Mich. 1973) ("An alleged wrongdoer is not
justified
in fleeing from the authorities because he believes himself to be innocent,
nor
would his friends be justified in knowingly concealing him").
