Criminal Forfeiture

Section 2253 of Title 18 requires the court to order the forfeiture of
any property: (1) constituting or derived from proceeds obtained from a
Section 2251, 2251A, 2252, 2252A, 2260, 2421, 2422, or 2423 offense and/or
(2) used, or intended to be used, to commit such an offense, if the trier of
fact determines, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the property is subject to
forfeiture under the statute. It also permits the court to issue
restraining orders and accept performance bonds to preserve the property
subject to forfeiture.
