Middle District of Florida Co-hosts Muslim Diversity Training
In cooperation with the Hillsborough County Criminal Justice Institute, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida hosted a forum on engaging and building relations with American Muslims. This half-day seminar was attended by more than 70 local, state, and federal law enforcement officers and state and federal prosecutors. U.S. Attorney A. Lee Bentley, III welcomed participants by emphasizing the importance of cultural competency in fostering better community relations with the Muslim community, in addition to providing law enforcement with the effective skills necessary in performing their duties.
