Pasco County Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Possessing Firearms
Tampa, FL - U.S. Attorney Robert E. O'Neill announces that U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich today sentenced Josiah Fornof (31, Hudson) to 10 years in federal prison for being a felon in possession of firearms. The court also ordered Fornof to forfeit his interest in all of the firearms and ammunition.
Josiah Fornof was found guilty by a jury on August 15, 2011.
According to court documents, Fornof, a previously convicted felon, threatened law enforcement by vowing to bear arms against deputies from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office who went to his residence to serve a warrant. An investigation revealed that Fornof possessed five firearms and approximately 718 rounds of various types of ammunition.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). It was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lisset G. Hanewicz.
